Jian Fang Lay – 6 time Aussie Olympian
I think I’ve found my favourite Olympian for #Tokyo2020 – 48 year old Aussie Table Tennis legend Jian Fang Lay will represent Australia at the Olympics for the 6th time.
“I never would’ve imagined that I’d be the first woman to represent Australia at six Olympics. I hope this will inspire more girls to play table tennis. As long as you have a dream, anything is possible.”
Melbournite Jian Fang Lay will equal the record for most Olympics by an Australian woman, joined by equestrian veteran Mary Hanna.
Table Tennis Australia chief executive Scott Houston described Fang Lay as an all-time great of the sport in Australia.
“She is an Australian sporting treasure, to maintain her standard on the international stage for more than 20 years is phenomenal”
