Welcome to Humans of CulturalPulse! In this series, we share the unique stories of our dedicated team who come from diverse cultural, linguistic and professional backgrounds.

We introduce our Senior Manager – Sport & Community Nick Hatzoglou.

Nick is a bilingual second-generation Greek-Australian, who is proficient in Greek and English. For over 25 years, Nick has had an impressive career working in diversity and inclusion in the sport industry for the AFL, Cricket Australia, Cricket Victoria, Football Victoria, and Local Government. Beyond his professional achievements, he’s a dedicated father of four and holds a deep fascination for ancient history and sports.

Nick highlights that parenthood has enriched his perspective, fostering a strong dedication to setting a positive role model for both his children and the community.

Nick’s role as Senior Manager – Sport & Community centres on connecting CALD communities with the FIFA WWC23 which is a realm where he excels. His responsibilities include vital communication and serving as the point of contact for CALD community members. Nick empowers and inspires community champions to actively engage their communities, fostering meaningful connections with the FIFA WWC23.

“Having the opportunity to connect and offer a touch point for communities that can be overlooked has been inspiring and, more importantly, has allowed us to move the dial in a positive direction and get them involved in the FIFA WWC23 on a significant scale. In a country like Australia, sport is a great vehicle to bring us together when at its best, which is really important for social cohesion.”

Nick’s remarkable efforts in community engagement for the FIFA WWC23 have undeniably demonstrated their triumph.

Thank you Nick for your never-ending compassion and genuine commitment to connecting with CALD communities!
